The Aurora University men's basketball team used 25 points from
Maxwell Marius, as six different Spartans reached double figures in scoring, to help AU beat Rockford University 102-90 on Wednesday night. The win now marks three-straight victories for the Spartans, all of which have come inside Thornton Gymnasium.

- AU found themselves tied with the Regents 9-9 just over three minutes into the action.
- Rockford held a three point lead at 25-22 over the Spartans about halfway through the first half.
- The Spartans followed this with a 13-4 scoring run to take a 35-29 lead with 5:18 to go in the half.

- The Regents would get one to go in their final possession of the half to cut the AU lead to 45-42 going into the locker room.

Isaiah Davis nailed a three to begin the second half.
- The Spartans held a 53-46 lead to begin the half.
- AU stretched that lead to 15 after an old fashioned three point play from McCottry with 14:36 left in the contest.
- At 6:42 on the clock, the Spartans took their largest lead at 86-67 after a
Jeffery Hillmer free throw.
- Rockford would get the game back within single digits at 99-90 with 51 seconds to go.
- The Regents push was a little too late as AU walked away with a 102-90 victory.
- Marius finished 13-for-15 at the free throw line which helped him toward a game-high 25 points.
