- AU answered immediately in just three plays with Mickle hitting Dones on a 45-yard scoring strike. The second connection of the day between the duo gave AU a 42-20 lead.
- With 5:43 left in the third the Spartans began their drive. AU ran off the final 5:43 of the third and continued to grind out the clock into the fourth.
- The 17-play AU drive that went for 58-yards and took off 9:25 of game clock ended up with an interception in the end zone.
