- Early in the first period AU headed to the power play and took advantage with 5:55 off the game clock. 
- Chayce Schmidt scored the power play with an assist from Jakson Kirk and Chase Broda.
- A smidge over three minutes later the Spartans went up 2-0.

- Following a Lawrence power play goal, AU struck again on the power play.

- AU led 3-1 after one period.
- The Spartans again struck early in the second, 5:01 in with Lucas Sedlacek lighting the lamp.
- Lawrence scored the final goal of the game late in the second.
