The Aurora University women's hockey team used two goals in final period, one each from Olivia Buzzelli and Keilana Schmidt, to knock off Trine University by a score of 3-1. Cara Cook also finished with two assists, as the victory marks another Northern Collegiate Hockey Association win for the Spartans as they enter February.

- AU got to the power play just seven and a half minutes into the contest, and didn't waste much time to take the early lead when they had the advantage as
Makenna Brownlee sniped one in.
- Brownlee was assisted by

Alex Johnson to make it 1-0.
- The Spartans did head to another 5 v 4 power play late in the opening period, but were unable to strike again.
- This kept AU's lead at 1-0 going into the first intermission.
- About halfway through the second period, Trine tied the score at one.
- That 1-1 tie would hold going into the second intermission.
- At 10:47 in the third,
Olivia Buzzelli lit the lamp to give AU the 2-1 lead.

- Just over five minutes later, AU stretched that lead to 3-1 when
Keilana Schmidt found the back of the net off assists from
Ellie Visser and Cook.
- This allowed the Spartans to coast to the 3-1 victory.
