Sydney Mann scored the first two AU goals and assisted on the third as the Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead minutes into the game.
- AU would add five more goals in the first period with
Kenly Axvig scoring twice and one each from
Ava Courtney,
Caley Russell and
Brianna Peck.
- Heading to the second, AU led 8-0.
- A pair of goals from Russell to start the second enacted the running clock rule.

- Axvig and Dahlberg scored early in the fourth to push the AU scoring run to 17-0 before the Sabres snapped the Spartans shutout attempt.
- Dahlberg added her third of the game late in the fourth before Smith scored on a free-position in the final seconds.
