High School: Attended Grayslake Central High School and played two years of varsity soccer under Coach Mike McCaulou. He was named All-Conference and Second-Team All-Area as a junior and senior.

Family: Jack and Therese Sloan. He has two brothers, Jimmy and Bobby, and two sisters, Kelly and Crystal.
