Jay Krick was hired as an assistant men's volleyball coach at Aurora University in May, 2019. Jay has previous coaching experience in all levels of volleyball, including the men's volleyball team at Dominican University (2013-2017) and North Central College (2019), as well as the women's volleyball team at the University of Florida (2010).
 
At Dominican, Krick worked with Dan Ames to begin the program in their inaugural season in 2014.  In just three years, they had secured a top 10 ranking, finished the season at 26-3 and qualified for the national tournament.  Krick coached three All-Americans and worked primarily as the defensive coordinator while overseeing game planning and film.  Krick then spent one year with the North Central College staff in the spring of 2019 and helped the Cardinals to a 16-11 record.  
 
With the Gators at the University of Florida, Krick was part of a program that spent eight consecutive weeks as the top ranked program in the country, going 29-2 on the year and 20-0 in SEC play to claim the 2010 SEC championship.  Krick worked in all phases of the program, focusing on defensive planning.  That season, the Gators led the SEC in team defense and ranked tenth nationally in blocks.

He also has club experience with Naperville Volleyball Club in Naperville, IL, coaching the Boys’ 16-1 team that qualified for nationals in the open division in 2006, and in the club division in 2008, 2009 and 2010 as the 18-1's coach.  He was also the head varsity boys volleyball coach at Glenbard North High School from 2002-2004, and the girls varsity coach from 2008-2010.

The Wheaton, Ill. native played volleyball at Wheaton Warrenville South High School and was also the founder and player/coach of the Valparaiso University Men’s Club Volleyball Team from 1996-1999.

Krick holds a Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science from Valparaiso University (1999) and has earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Concordia University of Chicago (2004) and a Master of Arts in Educational Technology from Concordia University of Chicago (2017).  He currently works full time as a physical education teacher at Stratford Middle School in Bloomingdale, IL.  He currently lives in Wheaton, Illinois and is married to his wife Nicole, and has three children (Riley, Ben and Matthew).
