Aurora University freshman women's hockey forward Michaela Hamm became the first Spartan women's hockey player in the programs first season of play to be named a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Player of the Week.

Hamm earned the honor by leading AU to a 4-1 victory at Trine University on Friday, December 8. On the night, Hamm scored two goals while also assisting on another. The points were the first of her career.

The Spartans and Hamm hold a 2-10-1 overall record through the first-half of the 2017-2018 season. Next action for the AU women's hockey team comes on Friday, January 12, 2018 when they travel to University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. in Stevens Point, Wisconsin
