Aurora University and the athletic department announced the 2018-2019 recipient of the Spartan Man of the Year Award. The honor has been bestowed upon recent AU graduateÂ
Collin Foreman.
The Spartan Man of the Year award honors a graduating male student-athlete athletes who has exhausted his eligibility and distinguished himself throughout their collegiate careers in academics, athletics, service and leadership.
Foreman captured the top Spartan athletics honor following a tremendous collegiate career for the men's soccer program. During his senior season, Foreman added the distinction on his resume of earning the Google Cloud Academic All-America® honor which is chosen based off the student-athletes combined prowess on the field and in the classroom. At the time he became the eighth CoSIDA Academic All-America First-Team selection for AU and 26th overall.Â
A forward on the pitch and finance major in the classroom, Foreman, finished the 2018 season as a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference First-Team All-Conference selection. He led AU offensively, picking up eight goals with one of those coming as a game winner and one assist.
"Collin had a tremendous career as an AU men's soccer athlete and we could not be more proud to name him our Spartan Man of the Year. Coming in his freshman year, he made an immediate impact on the field and helped propel the men's soccer team forward into perennial conference contenders,"Â said AU Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Wellbeing / Senior Woman AdministratorÂ

Excellence in the classroom was a constant strength of Foreman's as a Spartan as he completed a perfect academic career with a 4.00 gpa. He graduated with numerous honors including the Golden Ivy Leaf Award, Omicron Delta Kappa and Delta Mu Delta honor societies, four-year member of the AU Dean's List, two-time United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Region honoree, a four-time Spartan and Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Scholar-Athlete.
In the community, Foreman participated in numerous giving opportunities as he served on the AU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), including Aurora Food Pantry, Hesed House, Triple Threat Mentoring, Salvation Army and Project Linus along with the AU SAAC food drive as part of Cans Across the Conference.
