Aurora University women's cross country runner Deyanneira Colon Maldonado was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Athlete of the Week for the week of October 11-17, 2021.The honors were selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Colon Maldonado, a freshman, posted the fastest 6-kilometer time in the NACC this season with a 22:46.3 clocking at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational. She finished 18th overall in one of the more competitive meets in the Midwest this season, which featured two teams ranked in the top-20 nationally and two others that were regionally ranked. Of the 16 NCAA Division III runners ahead of her, 11 were from nationally-ranked teams. Colon Maldonado is the first runner in the NACC to eclipse the 23:00 mark this season. She beat the nearest non-Aurora NACC runner by 53 seconds and set a lifetime 6K personal-best time by 1:14.
