Aurora University junior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Outdoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals. The honor is the sixth for her on the 2024 indoor and outdoor season.

Colon Maldonado earned the honor after she set new Aurora and NACC records in two events over the past weekend. At the UW-Platteville Invite on April 12, Colon Maldonado ran a time of 16:34.97. This breaks the previous record by over 35 seconds. She is currently ranked eighth in the nation in that event. The following day, at the Wheaton Invitational, Colon Maldonado doubled back in the 1500 and ran a new Aurora and NACC record of 4:32.09. She was the top collegiate finisher in that race. She is currently ranked 12th in the nation in that event.

Next action for the Spartan women's track and field team comes on Saturday, April 20 when they compete at the Don Church Twilight meet hosted by Wheaton College.
