Aurora University senior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals.

Colon Maldonado earned the honor after she placed fourth at the 2024 Division III Pre-National Meet hosted by Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. Her time of 21:34.9 is the fastest 6K time in the NACC this season, and put her nearly a minute ahead of the next NACC finisher. Colon Maldonado was the only athlete from the Midwest Region to place in the top 10 at the meet.

Next action for the Spartan women's cross-country team comes on Saturday, October 19 when they travel to Augustana College. Meet time is set for 11:o0 a.m. in Rock Island, Illinois.
