Aurora University senior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Indoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals. 

Colon Maldonado earned the honor after she competed in two events at the Aurora Grand Prix. She won the 3000-meter run in a time of 9:47.32, beating the rest of the field by more than 30 seconds. That time currently ranks her fifth on the NCAA Division III performance list. Colon Maldonado also finished runner-up in the mile in a time of 4:52.70, just 0.39 seconds off the time set by University of Chicago's Claudia Harnett (4:52.31). Her time is a new Aurora and NACC record and places her second on the NCAA performance list behind Harnett.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan track and field team comes on Friday, January 31 and Saturday, February 1 when they travel to the University of Notre Dame Mayo Invite in South Bend, Indiana.
