Aurora University Athletics

Aurora University senior Deedee Colon Maldonado was named Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Women's Outdoor Track and Field Student-Athlete of the Week, as selected by the league's athletics communications professionals. The honor is the sixth indoor and outdoor in 2025 for Colon Maldonado.

Colon Maldonado earned the honor after she opened her outdoor season in the 10,000-meter run at the Washington University Distance Carnival on March 27. She ran a 35:15.27, setting a new personal record by 2.5 minutes. The mark is a new Aurora school record, beating the previous record of 37:03.62 set by Jackie Schane in 2019, and leads all other NACC runners by nearly seven minutes. Colon Maldonado's time also ranks fourth on the NCAA Division III performance list.
