The Aurora University Spartan women's softball team placed two players on the 2012 Louisville
Slugger/National Fastpitch Coaches Association All-Region teams. Junior catcher
Tristan Wilcox (Lafayette, Ind./McCutcheon H.S.) and senior outfielder
Caitlyn Clay (Davenport, Iowa/North Davenport H.S.) were named Great Lakes All-Region by the NFCA.
On the season in which AU finished with a 26-17 record and finished in second place in the Northern Athletics Conference (NAC), the Spartans have garnered significant post-season accolades.
AU placed Wilcox on the Second-Team and Clay on the Third-Team. Wilcox and Clay were both named NAC First-Team All-Conference.
Wilcox, a First-Team All-Region selection in 2010 and Second-Team in 2011, finished with a team-high .429 average with seven home runs, 11 doubles, 23 runs scored and 29 runs batted in on the season. She had a .657 slugging and .484 on-base percentage. Defensively, she had a 1.000 fielding percentage and caught seven runners stealing in 19 attempts.
Clay hit .359 with 32 runs scored, 21 runs batted in, six doubles and one home run, and was 9-for-9 in stolen bases.
