AU opened the game going basket for basket with the Regents until AU sophomore
Bethany Dorrington made a three pointer to open the lead 18-12.
The Regents fought back and cut the lead to just 28-24 with 6 minutes left in the half.
With three minutes left in the first period Rockford made two free throw shots to take the lead at 31-30.
The Spartans kept it close matching each basket while the Regents kept the lead 41-40 going
into the locker rooms for halftime.
AU started the second half to regain the lead with a three pointer from sophomore
Shannon Koski. The score was 52-47 in favor of the Spartans just 5 minutes into the half.
The Spartans started to make a run with another three pointer from Koski to extend their lead 63-53 with just 8 minutes left.
The Spartans would hold off the Regents to win 76-65. The Spartans were led by Koski's game-high 23 points going 5-of-7 beyond the arc. Senior
Shay Jenkins added 19 points and seven assists and Dorrington had 16 points, eight rebounds, five assists and four steals.
AU is now 2-6 overall and 1-3 in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference. Next action for the Spartan women's basketball team comes on Saturday, December 14 when they travel to Edgewood College. Game time is set for 4:15 p.m. in Madison, Wis.
