On Wednesday, January 27 when the Aurora University women's basketball team hosts Alverno College in an important Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference match-up at 7:00 p.m., the Spartans are hosting a special giveaway night in hopes of packing Thornton Gymnasium.

The first 100 AU fans in attendance will receive an AU in Blue bracelet and members of the women's basketball team have invited professors for "Invite a Professor Night." Additionally 5th graders from Creekside Elementary will be special guests for the night.

The AU women are currently 9-8 overall and 8-4 in the NACC, and on a four-game win streak. The Spartans are tied for fourth and playing for a top seed in the upcoming NACC Tournament.

Earlier this season on January 5, the Spartans defeated the Inferno at Alverno 69-63 behind a pair of double-double from seniors Bethany Dorrington and Anna Roszkowski. Dorrington had 21 points, 11 rebounds and five assists while Roszkowski had 12 points and 16 rebounds.
