The Aurora University men's track team had a phenomenal day at the 2017 Tadd Metzger Invitational hosted by Carthage College. The Spartan men won the meet by placing 1
st out of 5 teams; besting 2
nd place Carthage by a score of 188 to 175.

Junior sprinter
Terry Moore had an excellent performance in the 200 meter race by placing 1
st with a time of 22.74; Moore showed his versatility by also competing in the 400 meter race and high jump. The men's long distance crew had a dominant performance in both the 3000 and 5000 meter races, by having 3 scorers in each event and a total of 4 marks added to the Spartan's top 10 all-time lists. Anthony Barrios had a downright freakish performance in the 3000 meter race placing 4th in a stacked heat with a time of 9:05.03, which is 27 seconds faster than his previous personal best. Senior
Jimmy Baeskens handily won the men's 5000 meter race by running a 15:52.82, which was 24 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
