Spartan women defeat Knights and Attack Cancer

The Aurora University women's lacrosse team "Attacked Cancer" and hosted the Wartburg College Knights in the 2018 home opener at Spartan Athletic Park and the 2018 Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference schedule opener. AU was victorious in all aspects on the day including the 10-4 game win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the opening 13 minutes of play behind a pair of goals each from Bridget Poidinger and Kristina Krokosz.
- The Spartans finished the scoring for the half with two more tallies in the first, from Andrea Colford and Lori Miller to take a 6-2 lead to halftime.
- After Wartburg scored 1:51 into the second-half, neither team found the back of the net for the next 20 minutes.
- Spartan Kristina Krokosz scored three times and Olivia Matson added a tally to help AU build a 10-3 lead with one minute to play.
- Wartburg added a late tally but the Spartans were victorious, 10-4.
