Team effort leads to blowout win for Spartans

The Aurora University men's lacrosse team had a strong team effort in scoring 23 goals in a 23-2 victory over Concordia University Chicago to open up the Midwest Lacrosse Conference schedule on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Spartans dominated play throughout the contest, leading 6-0 after the first quarter.
- The AU defense got in on the scoring late in the first with Bryce Wallgard going in transition, getting an assist from Josh Boyko and putting the ball past the Cougar goalie.
- Early in the second, Josh Boyko scored a natural hat trick with three straight goals over a span of 2:40.
- Late in the period, Josh Favorite converted a goal on a breakaway with an assist from Nic Kruzlic.
- AU added eight second quarter goals to lead 14-0 going to halftime.
- The Spartans would lead 20-1 after three quarters.
- When the final horn sounded, AU was victorious 23-2.

FOR THE SPARTANS
- 11 Spartans scored goals with 13 collecting points.
- Josh Boyko had eight goals and three assists.
- Nic Kruzlic had four goals and two assists.
- Harrison Canaday had two goals and four assists.
- Josh Favorite had one goal, one assist, six caused turnovers and five groundballs.
