The Aurora University women's lacrosse team ran out to an early lead and held on to a 13-10 victory over the University of Northwestern at Spartan Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- AU grabbed a quick 4-0 lead just over 10 minutes into the game.
- With the Spartans leading 4-2, AU's Claire Carlson (3) and Kristina Krokosz (2) scored five unanswered goals to push the lead to 9-2 AU.
- Northwestern scored twice before the half ended to send the teams to halftime with a 9-4 score.
- UNW scored first in the second half but Marina Kanner and Carlson scored three times and AU led 12-5.
- The visitors then scored four times and with nine minutes left, AU led 12-9.
- With time running down, Krokosz ended the AU scoring drought with an assist from Janne Brown.
- With 5:45 to play, AU led 13-9.
- The Spartans would be victorious, 13-10.
