- AU took a 2-0 lead with a goal from
Jameson Morrison and Morrison assisting on a
Harrison Canaday goal.
- IWU scored three times in a span of 2:36 to take a 3-2 lead after one quarter.
- A minute into the second, AU trailed 5-2.

Josh Boyko scored with an assist from Morrison to end the run.
- With 5:53 to go in the second,
Nic Kruzlic scored to tie the game.
- IWU ended the half on a 3-0 run and led the Spartans going to halftime 8-5.
- In the third, Morrison and
Braden Toll scored 1:02 a part to pull AU to down 9-7 with 10:58 to play in the quarter,
- IWU scored the next four goals and into the fourth, AU trailed 13-7.
- AU chipped away at the deficit with goals from Morrison,
