The Aurora University men's hockey team put on an offensive clinic led by
Simon Boyko in their 8-1 home opener win over the Falcons of Concordia University Wisconsin Thursday night.

- Simon Boyko got AU on the board early with a goal 39 seconds into the contest. Andrew Lane and Jack Jaunich recorded the assists.
- Six minutes later, Gio Procopio scored the power play tally with assists from Brayden Sampson and Shawn O'Malley.
- AU kept the offense coming. Dylan Ryan extended the Spartans lead 3-0 with a goal with 2.75 left to play in the first. He was assisted by Robert Baranovskis.
- The Spartans out-shot the Falcons 21-8 in the first period.
- The Spartans came out in the second period flying around and controlling the action.
- Simon Boyko would add his second point of the night with a power play goal.
- Late in the second, O'Malley (Procopio and Smith assists) and Boyko (Jaunich and Grissom assists) would add two more goals to extend the Spartans lead 6-0. Boyko earned his first hat trick of the season.
- After Boyko's fourth goal of the night, CUW scored with 5 seconds left in the contest.
- The Spartan defensive unit in front of Josh Boyko made the large lead stand and AU was victorious 8-1.
