The Aurora University men's hockey team couldn't overcome a quick start to the game from the visiting Trine Thunder and fell 6-3 in the final contest before the Christmas break.

- Trine came out firing in the third and 1:04 in pushed the lead to 5-1.
- AU got back to back power plays and on the second, they scored.

- The Spartans cut the deficit to two goals with 3:40 to play. Adam Keyes scored with assists from Weber and Simon Boyko.
- Just over 30 seconds later, AU called timeout and went with the empty net for an extra skater.
- Trine got an empty net goal with 2:11 to play to finish the games scoring.
- AU fell 6-3.
