The Aurora University women's volleyball team split a doubleheader at Dominican University, winning 3-1 in match one and falling just shy in a come back 3-2 in match two Sunday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED MATCH ONE -
- The first set was a tale of two halves of volleyball as AU found themselves down 10-0 quickly.Â
- Midway through the set, senior
Julia Wood served up back to back aces and the set was tied 18-18.
- On the next service rotation,
Kaitlyn Beebe picked up a pair of aces as AU went up 24-20 before winning 25-21.
- AU would drop the second set 25-21.
- The Spartans led the entire way through the third set, winning 25-18 to take a 2-1 match lead.
- The fourth set played just like the third with AU controlling the set and winning 25-18 for the match win 3-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED MATCH TWO -Â
- AU fell behind early in the opening set and made a huge rally to get within one point late before falling 25-23.
- The Spartans jumped out to a fast 5-0 lead in the second set but a set of scoring runs followed and AU fell 25-19 to go down 2-0.
- A battle was on the schedule for the third set as the Spartans needed a late rally to get back into the set. When
Julia Wood served up an ace, AU won 25-23.
- AU dominated the fourth set, leading 22-6 before winning 25-10 to set up a fifth set.
- Eight Spartan errors in the fifth set allowed Dominican to win the set 15-9 and the match 3-2.
