The Aurora University men's hockey team returned to the ice for game two of a weekend conference matchup against Marian University. The physical contest led to a sudden-death overtime goal and the Spartans defeated the Sabres 2-1.

- AU fell behind Marian 1-0 as the Sabres scored 5:57 into the contest.
- The Spartans responded less than three minutes later. Jack Jaunich scored and was assisted by Adam Keyes and Derrick Budz.
- The second period saw no goals, but the physical play intensified with numerous penalties leading to players from both sides being sent to the showers early.
- Both AU and Marian had scoring chances during the third but the respective goalies of AU's Josh Boyko and his Sabre foe stood strong and kept the game tied, leading to a sudden death overtime.
- In the second minute of overtime, a penalty by Marian put the Spartans on a 3v4 play, but AU was unable to find the back of the Sabres net.
- With 23 seconds left to play in 3-3 overtime, freshman Matt Weber got the game winner. He was assisted by Larry Jungwirth.
