This week's Aurora University Spartan of the Week is junior track and field standout Brandon Pichen. He earned the honor following his tremendous performance at the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Day one of the 2017 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois were huge success for the Aurora University men's track and field representatives, junior Brandon Pichen.

Pichen took on the field of 15 in the weight throw. Pichen set the tone for the meet in his second throw, hurling a 19.40 distance (63'7.75") which set a new AU and NACC record in the process. His mark would hold up and place him second overall and have him earn All-American honors as the national runner-up. He joined his teammate Cooks and the 1990 AU baseball team as the best finishing Spartan team or individuals at an NCAA Championship.
