The Aurora University football team had another record setting performance on Saturday night in the Spartans 70-14 victory at Lakeland University. For his individual performance on the night, AU senior wide receiver Jacolby Maxwell was honored by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference as the NACC Offensive Player of the Week and named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.

Maxwell helped AU seal the 2019 out-right NACC title with an impressive individual performance in the Spartans 70-14 victory at Lakeland. He had nine catches for 151 yards and four touchdowns. The four touchdowns ties his own AU single game record and he now has 21 on the season which is tops in all of Division III. The four touchdowns also ties a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference single game mark which he also tied earlier in the season.

On the season and entering the 2019 NCAA Division III football playoffs, Maxwell 65 catches for 1,039 yards and 21 touchdowns. Nationally, he is first in receiving touchdowns (21), third in total touchdowns (21), third in total points scored (126), fifth in scoring (12.8 per game), 23th in receiving yards (1,039), 28th in receiving yards per game (103.9) and 37th in receptions per game (6.5).

Maxwell and the Aurora University football team are headed to the NCAA Division III Football Championship for the fifth time in program history and first since 2008. The Spartans received a Pool A berth as they finished the regular season with a 9-1 overall record and went a perfect 7-0 to win the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship.
 
The Spartans will travel to the Saint John's University (9-1, 7-1 MIAC) in Collegeville, Minnesota on Saturday, November 23. Game time has been set for a 12:00 p.m. kickoff at Clemens Stadium.
