Athletic Hall of Fame
Jim Schmid was inducted into the Aurora University Hall of Fame with the class of 2004.
Schmid received the Athletic Lifetime Achievement award. Schmid was the head baseball coach from 1983 to 1992. From 1985 to 1992, he was also the dean of student development at AU. During his tenure as head baseball coach, he won several coach-of-the-year awards, his team took two trips to the NCAA Division III Championships in 1990 and 1992, including a national runner-up in 1990. His overall record was 245-122-2 and the 1990 team was inducted into the AU Hall of Fame in 2000
