For the third consecutive season the Aurora University men's indoor track and field team returned from the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship as the NACC Indoor Champions. The 2015 Spartans finished with 160.5 points, 45 points ahead of the second-place finisher from Milwaukee School of Engineering.
AU was led by freshman
Deon Conway who finished the meet by being named the NACC Freshman, Field Athlete and Overall Athlete of the Meet. Additionally, AU Head Coach
Ryan Chapman was named the NACC Coach of the Year.
AU had four individual conference champions, the distance medlay relay team of
Brandon Miller,
Luis Salgado, D.J Wolfram and
Alex Duncan,
Matt Meyers in the mile run,
Alex Duncan in the 800 meter and
Camerhon Guyton in the 55 meter dash.
The medley relay won with a time of 10:52.09, Meyers won the mile with a time of 4:24.22, Duncan won the 800 with his time of 1:58.89 and Guyton won the 55 meter with a time of 6.57.
For Conway, he finished third in the 55 meter (6.65), fourth in the long jump (6.44 meters) and was third in the triple jump (13.22 meters) to total 17 points on the day.
All totaled, 25 Spartans scored points in the meet. Medaling for AU were freshman
Bobby Cooks in the 55 meter hurdles with an AU record time of 7.66.
Brandon Davis finished third in the pole vault, Meyers finished third in the 3,000 meter,
Anthony Barrios finished third in the mile run and
Jaylen Robinson finished third in the 400 meter.
