Men's Soccer - NACC Tournament Preview

The Aurora University men's soccer team will enter the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament for the tenth straight season. The Spartans finished the regular season with a 7-9-2 overall record and a 5-4-1 record in the NACC. Aurora earned the #5 seed and will travel to the #4 seed Concordia University Wisconsin Falcons in Mequon, Wisconsin on Sunday, October 30 at 1:00 p.m.
 
The Match-up –
- The #5 Spartans will take on #4 Concordia University Wisconsin who AU defeated in the regular season 2-0.
 
All-Time NACC Championships history –
- Dominican has won the NACC tournament eight of the ten seasons.
- MSOE has won the past two NACC tournament championships in 2014 and 2015.
- AU's best finish in the NACC is second-place which came in seasons 2010, 2008 and 2007.
- The second seed has won the tournament the last three seasons.
 
About the Spartans –
- AU is 6-7-4 all-time in the NACC Tournament.
- The Spartans are led by senior Ben Edith who has 14 goals and two assists in the season.
- Collin Foreman has five goals and four assists on the year.
- Xavier Ortiz has five goals and five assists in the regular season
- 11 different Spartans have tallied at least one goal on the year.
 
About the NACC Opponents –
- #1 Dominican University finished the 2016 season with a 12-2-3 overall record.
- #2 Benedictine University enters with a 12-4-2 overall record.
- #3 Milwaukee School of Engineering and the defending tournament champion enters with a 11-7-1 overall record.

With a win on Sunday, the Spartans would travel to either #1 Dominican University at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, or #2 Benedictine University at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2.
