Aurora University Athletics

Throughout the 2020-2021 year, the Aurora University athletic department will highlight the senior student-athletes. The seniors will provide some insight to their time at AU while getting to know them as individuals they have grown into in their time as a Spartan.
 
Senior Spotlight: Casey Dycus (Football)
Major: Health Science and Psychology Double Major
What are your plans after graduation? Palmer Chiropractic Doctoral Program - Rugby
What is your most memorable/best academic experience at AU? Finishing my last final exam.
What is your most memorable athletic moment at AU? Playing St. John's in the playoffs, it was an amazing atmosphere.
Other than the sport(s) you play; what other sports activity are you good at? I'm a little rusty... but I love to do gymnastics/flipping.
Outside of sports, what is your favorite hobby or activity? I love to drive my car and make turbo noises.
What AU faculty or staff member had the greatest impact on you and why? Jeff Probst, he's the best trainer. Kept me mostly healthy and injury free my entire stay at AU.
What do you enjoy most and least about practice? I love dancing with the bros to our awesome playlists. Not a huge fan of our push-up routine during warm ups.
Do you have any pregame rituals? I just try and relax. It can be really exciting and if I played too excited I would miss tackles.
What advice would you give to underclassmen at AU? Believe in yourself and keep that confidence! You just might surprise yourself. I surely did.
If you had to listen to one song on repeat forever, what would it be and why? Awaken by Big Wild - it's just so peaceful.
What is something that people may not know about you but should? I came into college athletics scared. I felt like I was too small, weak, and young compared to others. I ended up having significant playing time every year.
If you could spend an hour each with three people (past or present), who would you choose and why? Sean Reyna, Blake Martz, and Chase Forman - I love the friends I've made and I miss them more than anything from AU!
