Box Score The Aurora University Spartan women's basketball team took on the Raiders of Milwaukee School of Engineering Tuesday night in Thornton Gymnasium. After playing well on both sides of the ball, Aurora was able to establish an early lead. Aurora went into the half up by seven (31-24). The Spartans held the lead for most of the second-half until the Raiders were able to go on a 16-0 run late in the game. This was the turning point in the game as the Spartans would not see the lead for the remainder of the contest. The Raiders went on to win by a score of 58-47.

Aurora jumped out to an early 11-6 lead in the first half. Nine of these 11 points came by virtue of the
three point basket. Senior guard Megan Kohrt had two three pointers while sophomore guard Joree Green added a three of her own.

The Raiders countered with a 12-7 run to tie the game up at 18 a piece with just under six minutes to play in the opening half.

In the last 1:37 of play, Kohrt scored three consecutive three point baskets for the Spartans. These threes sent Aurora on a 9-3 run which put them up by a score of 31-24. Aurora would carry this lead into the half.

The Spartans' seven point lead came thanks to a combination of great defense and hot shooting. Aurora held MSOE to under 27-percent shooting in the first half. On the offensive side of the ball, the Spartans shot 41.4-percent from the field and 54.5-percent from three point land.
Kohrt tallied 17 points and four rebounds, both team highs for the half. Green added eight points and four rebounds of her own.

Aurora continued to play well to open up the second half. After MSOE climbed within three, Aurora went on a quick 6-0 run to extend their lead to nine points, their biggest lead of the game 37-28, with 13:03 left

Over the next seven minutes of the game, the Raiders went on a 16-0 run. MSOE freshman guard Marly Trier lead this run with eight points. After the run, the Raiders found themselves up by seven points (44-37) with 6:20 left in regulation.

14 seconds later Kohrt knocked down another three to stop MSOE's streak. After AU junior forward Alicia Edwards completed a three point play on the Spartans' next possession, the Raiders' lead was cut to just one point (44-43).

The Raiders went on a quick 7-2 run to extend their lead to six with 2:22 left in the game. The Spartans found themselves in a position to comeback with plenty of time on the clock.

After the Spartans came up empty on an extensive possession, the Raiders rushed down the court when a Spartan foul gave the Raiders a chance to complete a three point play. Frustration got the best of the Spartans as a double technical was issued to senior forward Corrina Larry. All four
technical free throws were made by MSOE senior forward Carol Cayo and the three point play was completed by senior guard Marguerite Wellstein. The Spartans now found themselves down by 13 points as the Raiders scored seven points at the 1:02 mark.

The Spartans did not have a final answer and the Raiders went on to win the game by a final score of 58-47. The loss drops AU to 2-20 overall and 1-14 in the NAC. Kohrt led AU with 24 points and eight rebounds while Green finished with eight points and seven rebounds.
