College as a Junior (’08): He appeared in 11 games and tallied 49 tackles, including 15 tackles for a loss. He led the Spartans with nine sacks and was named to the Second-Team All-Conference squad.

College as a Sophomore (’07): He appeared in 10 games, starting nine, and had 38 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss and three sacks. He was named Second-Team All-Conference.

College as a Freshman (’06): Played in nine games, recording 16
solo and 16 assisted tackles, five tackles for loss, two quarterback
sacks and three forced fumbles.

High School: Attended Morris High School. He played two years of varsity football under Coach George Dergo. He was named Second-Team All-Conference, Morris Daily Herald All-Area and Joliet Herald News Honorable Mention.

Personal: Born 6/7/88 in Maywood, IL.

Family: Marcie and Vince Funk. He has two brothers, Andrew and Ryan, and one sister, Madeline.

Hobbies: Fishing, poker and bags.

Major: Physical Education.
