College as a Junior (’08): He appeared in 11 games and had 23 total tackles, including four sacks.

College as a Sophomore (’07): He appeared in 10 games, starting nine, and had 34 total tackles and one sack.

College as a Freshman (’06): Played in eight games, recording four solo and two assisted tackles; he had three carries for 11 yards and one touchdown on offense.

High School: Attended Princeville High School. He earned three varsity letters while playing under Coach Rollin Arnett. He was named All-Conference three consecutive years; he was also named All-State and All-Area his senior year. Played four years of varsity baseball under Coach Erik Walles, where he was named Team MVP his senior year.

Family: James and Mary DeVries. He has three brothers, Brian, Joel and Patrick, and one sister, Jessica.
