Aurora University softball had another student-athlete named to the CoSIDA District VII Academic All-District team, which was announced on Thursday. AU junior designated player Nina Tholl became the latest AU softball student-athlete selected for her combined performances in the classroom and on the field.

CoSIDA Academic All-District teams are selected by CoSIDA member sports information directors within the district based on the student-athletes' academic prowess while being a steady influence on their respective athletic field. To be considered for the honor, the nominated student-athletes are required to maintain a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade-point average throughout their academic career at AU. Tholl will now move on to the Academic All-America selection process.
 
Tholl, a junior psychology and sociology double major finished the 2018 season with a .344 batting average with 18 runs scored, 28 runs batted in, nine doubles and three home runs. She has been named a Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference and AU Scholar-Athlete in 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and will be in 2017-2018 when those teams are announced.
 
The Spartan softball team finished the 2018 season with a 29-17 overall record and were 16-6 in the NACC regular season which was good for a third place finish.
