Aurora University senior John Torres was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.
 
Torres earned the NACC honor after he tallied a four-over 147 total to finish fourth in the medalist race at the Millikin University Take Back the Night Tournament in Decatur, Illinois. He fired a first-round 80 on the par-72 layout at Red Tail Run Golf Club on Friday, then rebounded with a final-round 4-under 67 at the par-71 South Side Country Club Saturday. The 67 matched both the conference's season-low aggregate score and score in relation to par. The Spartans tied for sixth of 19 teams with a 624 team total.
 
Next action for the Spartan men's golf team comes on Sunday, April 28 and Monday, April 29 when they compete in the spring portion of the 2018-2019 Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championship. The meet is held both days at Stonebridge Country Club in Aurora, Illinois.
