Aurora University junior defensive lineman Jaylen Jordan was named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Football Defensive Player of the Week as selected by a panel of the NACC Athletic Communication professionals. 

Jordan earned the honor after led an AU defense that pitched a first-half shutout while allowing the Spartan offense to get going after a slow start. He would finish the day with seven tackles (two solos), including two for loss and a quarterback sack. Jordan also had another quarterback hurry in a 70-14 Spartan victory over Lakeland.

On the season, Jordan has 45 tackles, 12 solo and 33 assisted while having 8.5 of the tackles coming for loss and two quarterback sacks. He has two quarterback hurries, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and a blocked kick on the season for the Spartans.

Next action for the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, November 11 when they host senior day and Concordia University Wisconsin. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. on Spartan Athletic Park in Montgomery, Illinois.
