Aurora University women's hockey student-athlete Darci Matson was named the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association Offensive Players of the Week following AU's weekend series sweep of Northland College.
 
Matson, a freshman, earned the NCHA Women's Offensive Player of the Week and becomes the first two-time NCHA Offensive Player of the Week in the league this season after helping AU get 2022 off to a strong start with a pair of victories over Northland in its return to the ice in the New Year, improving the team record to 12-2-0.

Matson collected her second hat trick of the winter in AU's 5-0 shutout victory over Northland Friday. On the night, Matson collected a point on every AU goal with three goals and two assists. The newcomer recorded 11 shots in the two games and leads the NCHA in points (25) and is third with her 14 goals.

Next scheduled action for the Spartan women's hockey team comes on Friday, January 21 when they travel to Concordia University Wisconsin. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. in Mequon, Wisconsin.
