Aurora University junior defensive back Shawn Corwin (Yorkville, Ill./Yorkville) was named the Northern Athletics Conference Football Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending October 28, 2012.
Corwin led the Spartans' defense in a 56-17 victory over Lakeland College on Saturday, October 27. He finished the afternoon with six tackles, a fumble recovery and an interception for AU.
On the season, Corwin has 36 tackles, a team-leading four interceptions, three pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble for the Spartans who are 4-4 overall; 3-2 in the NAC.
Next action for Corwin and the Spartan football team comes on Saturday, November 3 when they host Concordia University Wisconsin on AU Senior Day. Game time is set for 1:00 p.m. on Vago Field.
